Louis Anquetin Was A Famous French Painter Who Worked In The Late Nineteenth Century To Early Twentieth Century. Born In Etrepagny, He Moved To Paris Where He Met Some Of The Greatest Artists Of The Time Period, Including Henri De Toulouse-Lautrec, Emile Bernard, And Vincent Van Gogh. He Developed A Style Called Cloisonnism With Bernard. This Style Used Areas Of Bold, Flat Colors Separated By Dark Lines, Similar To Stained Glass Or The Japanese Trade, Ukiyo-E Woodblocks. It Simplified The Forms Of The Image And Emphasized The Two-Dimensionality Of The Canvas.
